Training is delivered via Face-to-face + Online Distance delivery.
Course Duration: This course is designed to be completed up to 104 weeks including holidays.
Expected Study Hours: Typical learners are expected to spend approximately 1739 hours depending on existing knowledge, skills, and experience.

This course is designed to develop your expertise in Early childhood education and care. Among others, you will learn to:

Students must be:

Must hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Are 18 years of age and over

Are working in Onyx Training Group Pty Ltd.’s partner childcare centres *

Have successfully completed at least Australian high school year 10, or equivalent

Have basic computer skills

Have sound Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills ^

Must have good general health and fitness for practicals ~

Completed HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and care setting #
* Onyx Training Group also accepts students who are not working in partner childcare centres. These students will also be required to go through a pre-enrolment assessment.
^ Students who do not meet the LLN requirements of the course may still enrol into the course provided the trainer has endorsed the enrolment, and corresponding additional support strategies have been put in place.
~ Students must interact with children ages 6 years and below, with activities that range from carrying, handling, and playing with them.
# Onyx Training Group Pty Ltd. does not facilitate First Aid workshops, and learners must complete this unit through other providers. Learners will be granted Credit Transfer for this unit once their Statements of Attainment have been verified.

Learners are required to undertake a minimum of 280 hours of vocational placement within a registered and approved children’s centre.

Onyx Training Group will provide learners with Skills Workbooks that will facilitate the required workplace assessments and allow the learner to complete the required vocational placement hours.
Learners are recommended to decide on their vocational placement providers as soon as enrolment is confirmed to ensure that enough slots are available in each provider, and to allow sufficient time for Onyx Training Group and the workplace partners to make the necessary preparations.
Vocational placement providers/ workplace centres must allow access to:

Vocational workplace supervisor(s) to supervise and confirm completion of the required tasks included in the Skills Workbook. The workplace supervisor must:
